Finding a horse that is right for you can be a challenge, even downright discouraging. We offer you our years of experience in helping you find the right match...and to help you take some of the guess work and stress out of horse shopping.

We are choosy about the horses we offer for sale at Maverick Horse and Cattle Co., and find for our clients.

We look at:

- Training
- Soundness
- Temperament
- Overall Balance
- Career Suitability
- Structural Correctness
- Natural Athleticism and Talent

We want you to know exactly what you're getting and be able make an informed decision...and more importantly we want you to be happy with your new horse.

We offer many breeds of horses, registered and unregistered, that are suitable for a variety of disciplines, such as Western Pleasure, Reining, Dressage, Pleasure/Trail Riding, and Hunter/Jumper/Eventing. You will also notice that we have Gaited Horses, Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Paints and a lot of color at Maverick, too!

We have horses in every price range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. Price is determined by quality, temperament, athleticism, training, versatility, show record, soundness, distinctiveness, and pedigree.

We welcome pre-purchase exams and will disclose all that we know about the horses we offer for sale.

We have several horses for sale at this time. Check back often as this page is updated regularly, or give us a call to talk to us about what you're looking for.

Finding The Right Horse

To learn more about what to look for and how to make the horse shopping experience a successful one, read this article to learn about the do and don'ts of horse shopping.

If we don't have what you're looking for, we will help you find the right horse. We will work on your behalf to make sure you get what you're looking for.

If you're horse shopping on your own, consider a pre-purchase evaluation. It may save you some heartache in the long run.

We will asses the horse's personality, conformation, gaits, training, and suitability for you level of experience and the job you want him to perform.

We can also give you a good idea if a young or inexperienced horse has the potential to become the horse given training and time.

Evaluations are $100.00 plus travel fees.

Leasing a Horse

If a horse purchase isn't right for you, you can still enjoy the experience of having a horse to call your own. With our lease program, your horse is available to you three days per week. Every lease also includes two lessons per month.

The two lease options are:

Stall-board lease at $600/month
Pasture-board lease for $400/month

Leasing is a great way to save money on the purchase price of a horse and to get a taste of horse ownership without the commitment.

Contact me for more information or come out for a visit anytime to see our horses in person.

Some of the horses that will be available for sale or lease are horses that we've adopted from a horse rescue. We are very proud of that. There are too many unwanted and abandoned horses. We are excited to be able to give these once neglected and/or abused horses a safe home and a fresh new start.
